Welcome to the 9th Iberian Prion MeetingFor the 9th time, we will meet for two days, May 14 and 15, to talk about prions, present and discuss our latest results, and explore new collaboration avenues. This time we have moved the meeting to May so that it does not coincide with Prion 2020 Goettingen.
As usual, we will have a group of excellent invited speakers, who will participate in each of our three thematic blocks: prion structure and basic biology, animal prion diseases and human prion and prion-like diseases. We will cover, among other topics, the latest exciting developments towards elucidation of the structure of PrPSc, perspectives in therapy for human prion diseases, and the current situation of CWD in Europe. The Iberian prion meetings are open to prion researchers from around the world; they are Ph.D. student-friendly, and a great opportunity for young researchers to break the ice with respect to presentation of their research and networking. Our host city: Corunna
Corunna is an open, welcoming city that enjoys a privileged location in a small peninsula jutting into the Atlantic ocean. With a busy harbour and spectacular urban beaches, its roman lighthouse -the Tower of Hercules-, and elegant victorian glass and wood façades, the city is certainly worth a visit. Galician gastronomy -octopus, fish, seafood...white wines...- constitutes an additional incentive. The meeting will be held at Hotel Riazor, right at the front of the Riazor beach and the Atlantic ocean. Special room rates for meeting attendants are: Double room, individual occupancy, with breakfast: 75 euros/night; room overlooking the ocean: add 10 euros/night; extra occupancy (2 persons): add 15 euros. Please mention Iberian Prion 2020 and book directly at: reservas@riazorhotel.com Alternatively, there are many other hotels with different prices at walking distance of the venue. |
